We were the first company to produce an EWG football head with a 29- degree eyelet. We did it in 2005. It put PPJ on the map in short order, by racking up wins on both pro circuits and the only college circuit which existed at the time. It won its first college natty and some bigtime FLW money by 2008. The Smashmouth Football features a razor-sharp medium wire, 3/0 Mustad EWG hook, with a unique 29- degree vertical eyelet configuration, that keeps it from rolling, keeps the hook upright, poised to strike at all times, even with aggressive movements, that will not flex or stretch you right out of a big fish, even on the most violent slackline hooksets. It has an integrated skirt collar to flare the skirt for improved action, and an integrated barb to hold your plastic in place. It has a full-size medium weed guard that is perfectly proportioned and aligned to keep you weedless, and let you crawl it over the roughest terrain with ease but not act like a "fish guard" when big slobs bite down on it.  Once you set the hook, it's over. Now you can have it with a hand tied living rubber skirt. We tie them with braid, not nylon, (which weakens and degrades with UV exposure and rough treatment). We don't use wire, (because that alters jig balance, which alters energy transfer from eyelet to hook point, that reduces hook set efficiency), and besides, eventually, wires corrode and break.
